At the heart of our company is our passionate belief in doing the right thing and enhancing the quality of life for the communities in which we build. Merritt’s founder, Leroy Merritt, believed in the spirit of generosity, and we are honored to carry on his tradition by investing in the places we call home and in the people we call neighbors. Merritt Companies’ charitable giving focuses on providing for the immediate needs – food, clothing and shelter for disadvantaged women and children in the community. We seek out services and programs that directly support these groups to ensure that our support is received by our neighbors in Loudoun County firsthand.

Our employees are also generous with their time and often volunteer to support nonprofit causes both through personal fulfilment and with Merritt-sponsored events. In addition to supporting the individual philanthropic actions of our employees, who play an important part in giving back to our communities, Merritt provides monetary and in-kind donations annually to nonprofits in every state where we operate.
